Fitting in time to workout can be difficult, but Privilee is here to make prioritising your health and fitness in Qatar easy.

Members can make the most of complimentary access to gyms across the city, meaning you can work out wherever you are, whenever you feel like it. You can mix and match classes to suit your needs, which is particularly helpful during Ramadan when you might need to adjust your schedule to accommodate Iftars or reduce the intensity of your sessions.

Whether you’re looking to improve your flexibility with yoga or build your endurance with a HIIT class, here are all the gyms where you can balance fasting and fitness this Ramadan.

The Venue Ladies

One of the best ways to make friends with like-minded people is at the gym, and VIP social club The Venue Ladies is the perfect place to do so. Alongside befriending fellow fitness fanatics taking the same classes, The Venue Ladies also run social events like sunset teas.

Classes typically run between 9am and 8pm, meaning those living or working nearby to The Venue Ladies on The Pearl-Qatar can train before or after work, or on their midday break. There are high, medium and low-intensity classes – perfect for those adjusting their workout schedule while fasting – and include options such as reformer pilates, martial arts, belly dancing and aqua cardio. The Venue Ladies also launched aerial yoga classes at the end of

last year.

If you’re ready to take your fitness to the next level, The Venue Ladies is known for its expert coaches with different specialities such as strength training and boxing.

Better still, after a hard workout, you can relax by the rooftop pool which boasts sensational views of the West Bay skyline. Dreamy.

Struggling with your press-ups, want to strengthen your core or just tone your entire body? M Active Ladies has classes to target specific body parts, like glutes, upper body or abs. You can also get your heart racing with spinning, martial arts or aerobics, or slow down with pilates and yoga.

After class, you can spend time winding down in the sauna or steam room.

Dynamik Gym

Another option located on The Pearl-Qatar, Dynamik Gym is incredibly popular with residents. Why you might ask? Well, the state-of-the-art equipment certainly helps, as does the fact that there are both mixed gym and ladies-only facilities, with an outdoor terrace area for working out with a view over Porto Arabia.

We also love that Dynamik Gym is open from 6.30am until midnight from Saturday to Thursday, and from 2pm until 10pm on Fridays, meaning you can work out post-iftar throughout Ramadan.

Whether you work out in the open gym or take a group class such as muay Thai, Zumba or mat pilates, you can soothe your body with a visit to the sauna, steam room, and private jacuzzi. You can also fuel up post-Iftar with protein shakes, smoothies and hot drinks at the Juice Bar with a 25% discount.

Waiting to use the squat rack is a thing of the past at M Active Club, the biggest fitness centre in Qatar which can be found in Mesaimeer.

Whether you work out in the mixed or ladies-only gym, you’ll find everything you need to get a proper session in.

Into weight lifting? Then you’ll love the Squat Room, where you can work on perfecting your form and building strength. Then put all that new-found strength to good use at The Box, where you can kickbox or show off your karate moves, or go for a dip in either the indoor or outdoor lap pools.

Fitness classes are a huge part of M Active Club’s offerings, and Privilee Members are entitled to two complimentary classes a week, including spinning, yoga and karate. Our pick would have to be BodyPump, which combines strength training and cardio.

Aspire Active Men

Doha’s Aspire Zone has seen some of the city’s biggest sporting events, with World Cup matches at Khalifa International Stadium and the Aspire Dome serving as one of the 2006 Asian Games venues.

You don’t have to be a pro to work out here, though – just a Privilee Member! You’ll enjoy access to the open gym areas, which have all the strength and cardio equipment you need, as well as two classes per week. Options include RPM, aka spinning, high-intensity interval training class GX, and BodyBalance, which combines Tai Chi, yoga and pilates.

If you prefer one-on-one time, there are three personal training packages to choose from, too, starting from QAR 1,700 for 12 sessions.
